01:38 AM - There's A Time And Place To Punctuate

The Obliterati is on the way. It's true. They're coming. Or it's coming. "It" being the new album from Mission of Burma - their second (on Matador) since reuniting a couple of years ago.

To help promote the upcoming release (May 23rd) they launched a subscription series, which I got all giddy over and posted about. Apparently there were some problems with the shipping schedule, so things didn't happen as planned. The whole one record a week thing went out the window, and so I just received 8 cd's, each with one track from the upcoming album. The artwork on the discs is the same as what will be etched into side two of the 12" (whenever those arrive - that's the real treat.) I can't wait to see those.

If you weren't one of the 500 nerds, um... fans, I mean, to jump on the subscription series, well you can simulate the experience at the new Obliterati wiki site which lets you listen to one new track each week and view the corresponding artwork - along with serving as a growing official resource for information about the band. Neat.

Comments

All the press and info says these cd's are supposed to be copyprotected. but I had not problem copying them to iTunes. Interesting.
