The Sound the Hare Heard | Main | El Jezel: tonight at Death Disco
"One featured band, four Daytrotter Session songs each week." Wow. I need to apologize for forgetting what site I got the link to this from, because they definitely deserve credit for leading me there. Daytrotter.com is a music site unlike most others. Sure they write about great bands and provide mp3s for you to download, but they're not just uploading their favorite tracks from the a new album or digging up some live track bootlegged at a recent show - they actually have the bands stop by a studio and record four tracks, which then go up on the site. This is fantastic. I need to take some time and make my way through their archives (which aren't too extensive just yet, but it looks like they've got big plans for the near future - just imagine how many bands on tour will be passing through and banging on their doors to be a part of this!) and so far I've only checked out the Hockey Night tracks. It's interesting that there has been such a sudden flurry of blog-talk about these guys only now, while they've been around for a while. Last week, I turned them into robots.
