Nada Surf - "the Blankest Year" video | Main | Mission of Burma : The Obliterati
Another music video from a Subinev local band favorite makes its debut on YouTube today - this time it's Radio 4 with the title track and first single off their new album, "Enemies Like This." I suppose it's only fitting that while the Nada Surf video I just posted about went for more 'analog' effects in the way of projections (though oddly enough it bears a striking resemblance in more than a few ways to Radio 4's "Save Your City" video from a few years ago, no?), Radio 4 went completely in the other direction - utilizing layers upon layers of video in theirs. This really makes a whole lot of sense when you think about both the personalities and sounds of both bands. About the Radio 4 video - not only is it a cool video for a great song - it's actually pretty funny. It's a sort of performance collage/multiplicity video, and the opening gives a pretty cool visual interpretation of the guitar's delay effects. P.J. and Gerard are the best parts of the video though - they just pop up every once and a while and jump around or stand there as the camera passes by. Well, it made me laugh, at least. Radio 4 - "Enemies Like This" video Radio 4 website, Radio 4 on Myspace (where they have just added "This is Not a Test" for you to listen to), Recently on Subinev: Radio 4 got robotified.
