I had a really long and in-depth post about some good finds among the rubble at Tower Records (near NYU) last night but it just got lost thanks to Firefox going boom. Here's the abbreviated version: Idolator has been keeping tabs on some funny/awesome deals at Tower Records stores across the country as they liquidate their stock with increasing percentages off their ridiculously high sticker prices. At 60% off now, things are actually generally cheap and worth taking a look. Here's what I saw and would recommend picking up, especially since any of these will set you back no more than $8 (might I mention, this is a great chance to catch up on some overlooked/ignored releases from the past year, maybe give something a second chance if you blew it off the first time and you'll find out that you love it after all): The iOs - In Sunday Songs Also, plenty of horrible looking emo records, most of which I didn't know but that I'm sure somebody out there will want.
The Vibration - Amarilla
Murder By Death - In Bocca al Lupo
the Robocop Kraus - They Think They Are the Robocop Kraus
SYR2: Slaapkamers Met Slagroom
Margot and the Nuclear So and So's - The Dust of Retreat
Be Your Own Pet - Be Your Own Pet
Man Man - Six Demon Bag
The Rosewood Thieves - From the Decker House
Dirty on Purpose - Hallelujah Sirens
The Rogers Sisters - The Invisible Deck

A few nights ago I lucked out at the Upper West Side Tower store, finding a Shocking Blue double-album, which has been on my Amazon wishlist forever, for only $7. You're right, though, there is a lot of junk lying around there. If they intend to really get rid of everything, they should promote a one-dollar day and sell everything in there for $1 / item. That would be cool. Yeah, I said it.
