"Big Art Show gives local, unknown, and independent artists a chance to perform and display their work to their peers and to the public! It is an environment that is led by volunteers who are driven by a passion to create a place devoid of the pressures and insincerities of the corporate media. Big Art Show is a chance to meet new friends, see their art, and hear their music. Big Art Show gives us a place to find out what it's like to be an artist, a musician, a writer, or anything else you can think of. Be a part of the Big Art Show, and help spread the love." I love the Big Art Show, and I've been lucky enough to participate in a number of them with various bands, so it's exciting to see how much they've grown in just the past couple of years. It started out with events in NJ, Philly, and Brooklyn, and has since expanded it's reach to Baltimore, with plans to take it even further this year. In March 2007, the Big Art Show will go on its first ever tour from March 2nd to March 18th, taking them from Philly to Texas and back! They are still in need of help with booking a number of the shows along the way so if you think you could help out, definitely get in touch with them! Here's a new video with tons of footage from their past events (watch closely and you'll see me in there a few times.) Also just because I really love what they do, here are some links to a few of the Big Art Show folks' work - Deadsquid, Clint, Jesse Rinyu, Geek Boy Press. Make friends with Big Art Show on Myspace.
