01:07 PM - Up the Empire record / show announced

The only band to have been turned into animated robots here (so far), Up The Empire, have announced that your first chance to get your hands on their long-awaited debut, Light Rides the Super Major will be at their next show (though the official release and all that fun is still a few months off.) The show will happen at The Mercury Lounge on Saturday, February 10th. Joining UTE will be their friends The Bon Savants (Boston) and Shade (Pittsburgh), as well as "the always amazing feet stompin' beats" of Tigercity. Afterparty details imminent.

It seems that Mercury is the place to do your record release show (though UTE's show isn't technically a release show) - tonight another local band, Looker, are celebrating their own Born Too Late there tonight with Exit Clov, Demander and the Subjects.
