Up the Empire record / show announced | Main | Pela signs with Great Society
Listen closely, kids. For anyone new to NYC, this might be news. If you walk south from Houston on Ludlow St, take note of the pile of rubble on your right (or have they started construction yet?) - this was the site of a great music venue for 10 years - notable for being the only place in town with free shows and reliably (usually) great lineups on most nights. Luna Lounge lived there from 1995 to June 2005, when their lease ran out and the building was demolished to make room for (just a guess here...) luxury condos, a wine bar, or some sort of exlusive underground lounge (or all of the above.) Now, about a year and half later, Luna Lounge is returning, though in a new location and at about twice the size. The new location is across the river in Williamsburg (361 Metropolitan) and the first show is happening next Friday, January 19th, with The Comas and Falcom. Buy tickets online. Right now they've only got two more shows listed (including the iOs on February 10th) but I'm sure many more will be added soon. Previously: The iOs robotinev.
