09:32 AM - Alina Simone signed, record out July 3

A long time coming, Alina Simone has just signed a record deal with 54' 40 or Fight! to release her debut full length record, Placelessness. The record will be out in the US on July 3rd, with national touring in the summer and fall to follow.

This is all fantastic news, and I'm very happy for Alina - I know how hard she's been working to get this record a proper release and trust me it's worth the trouble, it's an incredible album (I'm not just saying this because I play guitar on one of the songs, honest). As you probably know, her latest release is Get Going, the split digital ep with Gabriel Miller-Phillips that was released by The Mayan Empire Recording Empire, which is run by Mary and I. The two will be heading out on a brief tour together starting next weekend, after which Alina will be preparing for her slew of Austin dates for SXSW in March.
