07:56 AM - For those of us not going to Austin... (PART ONE)

Next week, a majority of the indie music community (bands, business, and fans alike) will pick up and head to Austin for the SXSW Music Festival (3/14-28) - get a lot of party info here. What does that mean for anyone not lucky/rich/determined enough to go? Well, for one thing it means that a lot of great bands are hitting the road and might be coming through your town on their way down there, and it also means that otherwise crowded shows will have a little more leg room, and maybe even your buddy's band will get a chance to play a slightly better venue than usual. I've seen a lot of sites talking about bands from NYC who will be in Austin - well here's a look at what will actually be going on right here in town (begining with Wednesday, March 14th) - surely there will be some people sticking around who'll want to see live music, right?
