Pela's first record (full length, that is) comes out today. Music For Robots has quite an extensive post about it, including a contest to win tickets for the release show at Mercury Lounge tonight. My excitement about this band and their record probably is not news to you, but it's worth mentioning that it was exactly one year ago today that I did the Pela Robotinev drawing. As I've pointed out (probably more than) a few times, they were the first band to receive the Robotinev treatment, and at this point we're up to 67 bands total. I suppose I get to celebrate that tonight, since I'm in one of the bands opening this show... if you've got your ticket (or if you win one!) then I'll see you there tonight! If not, do yourself a favor and listen (click the e-card on the right) to Anytown Graffiti today and get yourself a copy. After the slew of multi-city record release shows this weekend, Pela will set off on extensive touring that will probably last through most of the year.
