01:03 AM - Come on, feel it now: CMJ 07

What's that I hear? That rumbling and pecking of keys from bloggers around NYC and beyond? It must mean that the first bunch of bands scheduled to play the CMJ Music Marathon this year have been announced. It's not a big list yet, but it's a strong and varied start. I'm planning on putting together a guide to the lesser-known bands this year, both for attendees looking to find the best new NYC bands playing, and anyone willing to give new bands from out of town a chance (especially ones making their first trips here). More on that as October gets closer and the full schedule is revealed.

Speaking of CMJ and festivals, CMJ is helping us out with After the Jump by providing two CMJ Music Marathon badges to be raffled off at the show on August 25th. That's a pretty big prize to win... you can check out all the prizes we'll be offering in the raffle over at Music Snobbery.
