Ever since I moved to Park Slope (which I've since left) I wondered about the strange building on 7th Ave and 2nd Street. The "live music live" sign was probably what drew my interest the most (figures, huh?) but the way it stood out from the very neat and clean surroundings with its graffiti and random paint splatters seemed to hint at something unique - not to mention that it had obviously been shuttered for years. Knowing nothing about the business that had been there, I imagined that it had been a really amazing punk venue or maybe some old hippie folk joint - turns out it was a little closer to a child's playroom gone wrong. The article says they hope to turn it into an arts center of some sort, but wouldn't it be a nice place for a bar with a little stage?
